Welcoming New Principal at SHS

Dear Sacred Heart School Community:

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Maegan Koelker has been selected as Principal of Sacred Heart School effective July 1. Mrs. Koelker currently serves as Principal of Timberlane Middle School in Plaistow, New Hampshire. She was selected from a pool of qualified, dedicated, and passionate educators and administrators in a process that included SHS teachers, parents, and Advisory Board members. She demonstrates many of the qualities and skills valued by the Sacred Heart community and she is eager to join us in our mission to provide a faith-filled, academically excellent education to our students.

Mrs. Koelker comes to us from fifteen years in the Timberlane district. She taught for twelve years as a seventh grade English/Language Arts teacher, served as Assistant Principal for the middle school for one year, and has spent the last two academic years as Principal at the same school. She earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Lynn University and Masters in Education with a focus on Educational Leadership from University of New England.

Mrs. Koelker lives in Newmarket with her husband Matt and two sons, Simon (8) and Elijah (10). She and her family are parishioners at St. Michael’s Parish in Exeter. She enjoys running, spending time at the beach, and playing soccer with her boys.

A transition team of select faculty and staff members, parents, and Board members is being assembled to help Mrs. Koelker acclimate and learn as she joins our school community. Those interested in being considered for this team can reach out to Mrs. Megan Weand or Fr. Gary Kosmowski.

Thank you to the Search Committee for your hard work and to the entire SHS community for your support and prayers during this process. We all look forward to welcoming Mrs. Koelker and sharing with her all that makes Sacred Heart School such a special place!

Sincerely,
Megan Weand
